Whether brides opt for sleek bangs or a side-swept hair style, an elegant updo is a wedding day classic.

Half-up, half-down wedding hairstyles are in, said Jennifer Sautter of Salon Salon in Stowe. The salon’s most popular requests include loose-swept updos with soft, tousled curls and braiding.

“The sheer overlays in wedding dresses and introduction of color in dresses has instigated a less traditional, more freestyle hairdo, reflecting the personality of the bride with the look of the dress,” she said.

Whether brides opt for sleek bangs or a side-swept look like Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, an elegant updo is a wedding day classic with plenty of options for personalization, from floral accents to jeweled hair ornaments.

“There is always a demand for intricate and detailed updos,” Sautter said.
