Autumn 2016, The Pinnacle, Stowe, Vermont

Jamie and Joey were married in the fall of 2016 on top of the Pinnacle, a Stowe mountain peak about 2,600 feet in elevation on the Worcester Range with sweeping panoramic views of Mount Mansfield and the Green Mountains.

“Growing up beneath those mountains, they were his playground,” Jamie said of her husband. “Once he introduced me to the Pinnacle it became my favorite place for serenity.”

They had no backup plan, which concerned some people — but not the bride and groom.

“We were determined to get married on top of that mountain rain or shine,” Jamie said.

After a cold, drizzly September morning, the rain stopped, and the party hiked to the summit — “a team effort” to get all the gear up to the top. The girls changed into their dresses in a curtained area among the evergreen trees.

The bride, who was Miss Vermont USA in 2012 and owns Lush Salon in Stowe, did her own hair and makeup, and made the flower arrangements and boutonnieres.

After the ceremony, performed by a family friend, a Champagne toast was held in the light of the setting sun.
