Defending champions Rob Tedoldi and Dean Ferrara won the 14th annual Couching Lion Invitational, held at the Country Club of Vermont in Waterbury.

In play that wrapped up July 27, Tedoldi and Ferrara won their fifth Couching Lion trophy by posting a 3 and 2 victory over Doug Teetor and Doug Crawford in the finals.

William H. Nelson III, the first president of the Country Club of Vermont, presented the winners’ trophy.

Brian McCarthy and Jarek Hammerl won the new tournament’s new three-day stroke play format. That team and the team of Craig Allsopp and Chris Mendelsohn each scored 20; McCarthy and Hammerl won on the first playoff hole.
