Thank you, Waterbury businesses!

On behalf of Dragonheart Vermont, we would like to thank the following businesses for their generous support: The Blue Stone, Stowe Street Emporium, Bridgeside Books, LaStrada Bakery, Axel’s Gallery and Frame Shop, The Old Stagecoach Inn, Sunflower Salon & Boutique, The Reservoir, Arvad’s, Blackback Pub, Craft Beer Cellar, Prohibition Pig, Sheila Tarbox, hairdresser, and Park Row Cafe .

As Waterbury community members, we are proud to acknowledge the generosity of these Waterbury businesses when approached to donate to our Pick-a-Prize Raffle, a new addition to the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival. All proceeds of this raffle go toward Dragonheart Vermont Festival’s goal to raise $250,000 to support cancer survivors in our Vermont community.

We invite our Waterbury friends to come out on Sunday, Aug. 3, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for the fun and spirited dragonboat festival, held at the Coast Guard boat launch in Burlington.

Come early and buy your raffle tickets for our wonderful Waterbury businesses, as well as other fabulous prizes. Come for all or part of the day and cheer the breast cancer survivor teams and the 60 community teams that will be competing with one another throughout the day.

The community teams are comprised of businesses, health care providers, families, school members, coworkers, and friends who love to have fun while supporting the cancer support program established by Dragonheart Vermont, Survivorship Now. This program is designed to support all cancer survivors as they move through treatment and work to restore their lives post-diagnosis and treatment.

The program is based on six key tenets of surviving cancer: exercise, connection, spirit and joy, nutrition, education and service. Participants are offered free monthly classes that reflect these tenets.
