Melinda Garfield, 61, of Waterbury has been charged with driving under the influence Nov. 21 at 7:37 p.m.
Vermont State Police allege Garfield was speeding when they stopped her 2008 Subaru Impreza as it was headed south on Route 100 in Waterbury. Conversation led the state trooper to a DUI investigation. Police said Garfield’s blood-alcohol level was 0.182 percent, well above the 0.08 that’s proof of intoxication.
Garfield will be arraigned Dec. 11 in Washington County Superior Court.
