A highway construction worker was struck and killed near on I 89 last week. Be aware of driving behavior in work zones as you travel throughout Vermont and pay special attention to the workers.
It is against the law to use a handheld electronic device while driving in work zones, and that law will expand to all Vermont roads on Oct. 1.
Paving on I-89 between Richmond and Colchester occurs between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Expect reduced speeds in this area.
Route 15 in Hyde Park will see more work on a box culvert installation.
Route 12 between Elmore and Morristown will see one-way traffic as the result of a paving project.
Route 2 between Waterbury and Bolton will see alternating one-lane traffic for an ongoing paving project. Drivers should expect delays and should drive slowly and cautiously through this zone.
Routes 2 and VT 100 in Waterbury will see more work on the roundabout project this week. Delays and occasional short-term lane closures should be expected.
