A Moretown firefighter was charged with driving under the influence after he backed a fire truck into the Moretown Fire Station Nov. 8 at 9:20 p.m.

Brandan Abare, 21, who lives in Warren, was returning from a call in a town fire truck when he backed into the building on Route 100-B, Vermont State Police said.

Troopers spoke with Abare, and said he showed signs of impairment. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI, was later released, and is due in Washington County Superior Court Nov. 21.
