Through traffic on River Road in North Duxbury will be blocked for about three weeks, starting June 17, while a bridge is removed and a culvert built in its place.
The construction work will occur on Hayden Brook near the south side of the Winooski River, roughly opposite the Cider House BBQ and Pub on Route 2 in Waterbury.
Duxbury highway officials said through traffic between Waterbury and North Duxbury will be blocked at Hayden Brook, next to the Davis farmhouse at 3085 River Road in Duxbury.
Once the construction starts, through traffic will need to detour via Route 2 and River Road north of the construction site.
In Jonesville and Richmond, the road is known as Duxbury Road.
Parking will be allowed in designated areas along River Road on each side of the construction site, out of the way of construction equipment.
Updates on construction progress will be provided on duxburyvermont.org; click “Highway Department” on the left side of the page.
