Trail alliance holding end-of-season party

The Waterbury Area Trail Alliance will celebrate one of the best running and riding summers ever with an end-of-season party Saturday, Oct. 24, at Perry Hill — the Not Quite Halloween Perry Hill Hold ’Em.

It’s a poker run, in which riders and runners make two loops — one shorter, one longer — and collect five playing cards. The combination of the best hand and the fastest time wins. Best costume will get a prize, too.

The event starts at 1 p.m.; the after-party will be upstairs at the Reservoir at Main and Stowe streets.

Costumes are mandatory; the event will be held rain or shine, and kids are welcome.

Registration is $30 — a fundraiser for the trails. Information: Facebook.com/waterburytrails.
