Amanda Brundage of Waterbury took third place among Vermont second-graders in the state PBS Kids Writers Contest.
Anna’s entry was titled “Monkey Discoveries.”
Vermont Public Television reported receiving 140 entries from children in kindergarten through grade 3; each grade was judged separately.
Anna recorded her story on camera, as did other winners; the stories themselves and the youngsters reading their own stories can be viewed at vermontpbs.org/writers.
