Music from Opera and Broadway will be featured at a “Music at Moose Meadow” house concert to benefit the Eleva Chamber Players.
Soprano Kimberly Moller and Boston Lyric Opera pianist James Myers will perform music by Strauss, Wolf and Hoiby — a mix of American composers, arias and Broadway hits. The concert is Thursday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m. at Moose Meadow Lodge in Duxbury. Admission is by donation ($25 to $250) and includes a reception, concert and a dinner buffet.
Space is limited and reservations are required; call 802-244-8354 if visit elevachamberplayers.org. All proceeds from house concerts benefit Eleva’s educational programs and orchestral performances.
The Eleva Chamber Players, Central Vermont’s professional all-string chamber orchestra, is composed of professional musicians with distinguished international careers from throughout the Northeast. It performs without a conductor. Its mission is to elevate the human spirit through music. It was founded in April 2006 in Waterbury.
Other musical events at Moose Meadow Lodge include the Vermont Philharmonic Pops on Aug. 10 and music by Vermont composer Richard Stohr featuring Stefan Koch, cello, and Robert Conway, piano, on Sept. 18.
