Brandon Dodge Preedom, 22, of Waterbury died after his car struck a moose on Route 2 in Bolton on Tuesday evening, Oct. 6, 2015.

He was born in Berlin July 28, 1993, son of Michael L. and Susan C. (Blais) Preedom, graduated in 2011 from Harwood Union High School in Duxbury and continued his education at Lyndon State College.

After school, Brandon began working for Shaw’s Supermarkets in Waterbury, Waitsfield and Berlin. For the past year, he worked at the Stowe location, and was the assistant deli manager.

An avid outdoorsman, Brandon loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed his family’s annual summer camping adventures throughout Vermont. He enjoyed video gaming and playing cards.

Survivors include his parents, Michael and Susan Preedom of Waterbury Center; his sister, Bethany H. Preedom of Rutland; his paternal grandmother, Bella T. Preedom of Waterbury Center; his maternal grandmother, Rose M. Blais of North Troy; a special aunt and uncle, Nancy and Jeff Robinson of Waterbury Center; a special great- aunt, Claire Doyon of Duxbury; his best friend, Ethan Burdett of Waterbury; and aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Waterbury on Saturday, Oct. 10, followed by a reception at the Waterbury American Legion.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Brandon Preedom’s memory to Harry N. Cutting American Legion Post 59, P.O. Box 417, Waterbury, VT 05676.
