A traditional Memorial Day service and the rededication of the Loomis Hill Cemetery will take place on Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m., rain or shine. The cemetery is on Loomis Hill at the intersection of Ripley and Sweet Roads. Park on the side of the road and walk in; bring a chair if you wish.

During the past few years, a small group of volunteers have spent many hours restoring this historic cemetery. Learn about the reclamation project, and the stories of Silas Loomis and others who are buried there.

The events are sponsored by the Waterbury Historical Society and the American Legion, Post 59. Information: 244-5029 or 244-7409.
