Julia Blake will give a two-part talk on “Home Exchange and Economical Travel” on Tuesdays, Sept. 23 and 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Congregational Church, 8 N. Main St., Waterbury.
Blake will explain details and pros and cons of home exchange as a way to experience a foreign country or distant U.S. state without breaking the bank. Blake has completed 10 successful exchanges. She will describe the process and allay fears about turning over your home to strangers. She will also offer information on finding low-cost flights, rental cottages, B&Bs and free home stays.
