The fourth annual “Pie for a Cause” fundraiser by Girl Scouts Troop 30028 was again a huge success. The Scouts thank all the community members who bought pies and those who donated food and ingredients: Cabot, KC Bagels, King Arthur Flour, Shaw’s, Price Chopper, Hannaford’s, Walmart, Arvads, Prohibition Pig, Jimmz Pizza, The Pizza Shoppe, The Reservoir, Healthy Living, UVM Orchards, Chapin Orchards, Hunger Mountain Orchard, Hunger Mountain Co-Op, Burtt’s Apple Orchard, Kinney Drugs, Sunflower, Costco, The Wayside, City Market, Shadow Cross Farms, Smuckers, and Village Market. The fundraiser would not have been as huge of a success without this help.

The Scouts would also like to thank Richard Marcella, Andrew Proteau, Ashley Proteau, Patricia Marcella, Sawyer Belongia, Renee Adams, Hayden Adams, Wyatt Adams, Cam Alberghini, Lini Alberghini, Anne Latulippe, Andre Latulippe, and Megan Seargant for help during the pie-making process.

The troop was able to raise $1,000, and donate $500 to the Waterbury Good Neighbor Fund, $250 to the Waterbury Food Shelf and $250 to the Duxbury Food Shelf.

The troop will be selling Girl Scout Cookies this year at $4 a box. Information and cookie orders: blaproto@comcast.net.
