Harwood Union High School students will highlight the worldwide hunger problem with an Empty Bowl Dinner Thursday, Dec. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the school on Route 100, South Duxbury.

The cost is $15; all the money will go to the Harwood Rwanda Travel Study Program.

The event is being organized by students in the Rwanda program, who see the event as an opportunity to discuss world hunger and share Rwandan culture with friends, family and community members.

Each person at the Empty Bowl Dinner will receive a sample of Rwandan cuisine and can take home a handmade bowl. Music and a silent auction of crafts from Rwanda, Africa and local businesses are also planned.

Tickets: Steve Rand, 244-5186 or srand@wwsu.org.
