Graduated Vermont and New Hampshire’s top high school soccer players meet for the 40th Annual Lions Soccer Cup Saturday at Castleton State College on Saturday, July 19.
The Vermont girls, including Champlain Valley Union (CVU) standouts Haliana Burhans and Mackenzie Kingston, kick off the doubleheader at 4pm. The Vermont boys, featuring CVU’s Joseph Castano and Zack Evans, follow at 6:30pm.

Vermont and New Hampshire basketball All-Stars including Champlain Valley’s Lucas Aube for the boys team, and Amanda Beatty, Amanda Lougee, Emily Kinneston, and Kaelyn Kohlasch on the girls side, meet on Saturday at Keene State College as well. The girl’s game begins at 4pm followed by the boys game at 6pm.
Williamstown’s Jack Carrier will lead the Vermont boys coaching staff, assisted by CVU’s Mike Osborne, Rochester’s Earl Kingsbury, and Williamstown assistant Adam Wheatley.
Champlain Valley head coach Ute Otley will lead the girls coaching staff, with Eric Ward of Thetford, Billy Waller of Vergennes, and Cathy Kohlasch, also of CVU, joining her as assistants.
