A four-year varsity starter, senior captain, and current defensive player of the year, Champlain Valley Union’s (CVU) Paige DuBrul added another feather to her cap: The Burlington Free Press’ girls’ soccer player of the year.

CVU girls soccer head coach Stan Williams describes his standout senior midfielder in this way, “Paige is the rock of our team. She is a tremendous defensive player and the best player in the state in the air. She is very talented technically and offensively,” he noted. “Her ability to control the ball in tight spaces and pass the ball with precision makes her an ideal player in the center of the field.”

With DuBrul at the helm, CVU won a record-breaking 44 games in a row, won the D-I state championship for four consecutive years, and sports a 68-2-2 record over the same time period.
