I am writing to express my strong support for Bill Lippert for re-election to the legislature from Hinesburg. I have known Bill for over 40 years and completely trust him with the weighty decisions that are pending in Montpelier in these trying times. Bill is a well-respected leader in the Statehouse, chairing the vital House Healthcare Committee. In the past Bill chaired the House Judiciary Committee, an extreme rarity for a non-lawyer and a testament to the respect he has garnered from both fellow legislators and the House leadership.
Bill is thoughtful, thorough, open to hearing diverse perspectives and respectful in his dialogue on a wide array of issues. He has been a champion for civil rights, racial justice, sensible healthcare policy, women’s right to choose, DUI and criminal justice reform.
I hope you’ll join me in returning a true leader, in the best sense of that word, to Montpelier by voting for Bill Lippert in the Aug. 11 primary and then in the general election in November.
