Two residents enjoy the sparkling waters of Charlotte Beach at the town Beach Party last year.

The Charlotte Recreation Commission will host the 2nd Annual Charlotte Beach Party on Sunday, Aug. 3 from 3-8pm. There will be a free pig roast again this year, courtesy of Fat Cow Farm. The fee to attend this year’s event is a potluck item to share or a $5 donation.

The Mystic Party Band, composed of locals Mary Provencher, Jimmy Swift, and Dana Lavigne, will perform at the festivities. And the Outdoor Gear Exchange will be on hand with water demonstrations of stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and more. Other activities include storytelling, Celtic dancers, volleyball, tennis, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, horseshoes, and as always a playground for the younger set.

Unfortunately parking is not free. A beach season sticker or a day pass is required to park. Party goers can buy stickers from the attendant on duty. Don’t let summer pass you by without a visit to the beach.
