Vermont Tech Jam organizers are now accepting nominations for the 2014 Vermont Tech Jam awards, presented by Merchants Bank. The two awards recognize Vermont’s most innovative tech company and its most enthusiastic tech ambassador.
Pwnie Express of Berlin received the 2013 Innovation Award for its PwnPad, a groundbreaking penetration device that evaluates wired and wireless networks. FreshTracks Capital of Shelburne won the 2013 Ambassador Award for its work advising Vermont startups and growth companies.
A distinguished panel of judges will select the winners of this year’s Tech Jam awards. The judges are Patricia Moulton, Secretary of Commerce & Economic Development; Dr. John Cohn, IBM Fellow and Chief Scientist of Design Automation at IBM; Matt Dunne, head of Community Affairs for Google; and Seven Days Publisher/Co-Editor Paula Routly.
The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, Sept. 30, at noon. Find nomination forms and award criteria at techjamvt.com/vermont-tech-jam-2014. The winners will be announced at a reception on Friday, Oct. 24, during the 8th annual Vermont Tech Jam.
The Vermont Tech Jam is a job fair and tech expo organized by Seven Days and the Vermont Technology Alliance, a trade organization representing Vermont’s tech sector. The 2014 Tech Jam, underwritten by Dealer.com and MyWebGrocer, is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and 25 at Memorial Auditorium in downtown Burlington.
Job seekers across the region come to the Jam to talk with recruiters from dozens of Vermont’s fastest-growing and most innovative companies; students and career changers attend to find local internships and educational opportunities. In addition to Dealer.com and MyWebGrocer, Vermont Tech Jam sponsors this year include BioTek Instruments, Logic Supply, Merchants Bank, Vermont Technology Alliance, the Vermont Agency of Education and Middlebury Interactive Languages.
