Vintage kitchen linens hold a very specific allure.  The sometimes yellow, often stained, and meticulously crafted bits of fabric tell stories from generations past that often don’t make it out of dusty cabinets or off table tops.

The Carpenter Carse Library will be hosting a free presentation on kitchen linens dating from the 1930’s to 1960’s on Monday, Sept. 22 at 12:30pm.  This is a great opportunity to break out linens you may not know much about, or perhaps that you have fond memories and stories of, and share them with others.  Discover how certain dye colors, embroidery stiches, monograms, hem stitches, and tatting betray the origins of each piece.

Tea and light refreshments will be provided.  For more information please call Carpenter Carse Library at 482-2878.
