The Hinesburg Community School (HCS) Board is planning ahead to the upcoming round of budget meetings and is seeking more community input during the process.

During its Sept. 16 meeting, the Board approved budget assumptions and an accompanying calendar. At the same time, school directors gave the go ahead to putting the word out on Hinesburg’s Front Porch Forum for “Budget Buddies.” The panel is seeking representation from parents, and community members as well as teachers.

According to HCS Board Chair Keith Roberts, school administrators Jeffrey O’Hara and Allegra Miller are preparing financial reports for school programs. A Nov. 24 budget forum will be scheduled before the Board’s first meeting on next year’s proposed spending plan.

The Board appointed Board member Kathy Beyer to a new Chittenden South Supervisory Union Communications Committee. If Beyer experiences a scheduling conflict, Roberts has agreed to step in.
