Champlain Valley Union Access program Founder and Director Eddie Krasnow is the first recipient of an award given by the Excellence in Education Foundation. Miles Heller, fund trustee, presented Krasnow with a plaque, the foundation’s logo pin, and a $5,000 honorarium in recognition of the fact that Krasnow places responsible, balanced teaching ahead of his own beliefs and that he is recognized by his peers, students, and the community as being among the elite educators in Vermont.
Of his time at the Hinesburg school, Krasnow says “The ‘What is missing? Let’s create it’ approach to learning brought me to CVU in ‘99,” adding that, “Creating and improving Access-Community Education for All, Summerlink, Access Craft Fair, and the American Roots Concert has certainly kept [him] challenged.”
Krasnow lives in Charlotte with his wife, Jane, and has four grown children.
