The annual Waterbury Winterfest Dance and Silent Auction will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Country Club of Vermont, 2800 Country Club Road, Waterbury Center.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the band Still Kickin’ will provide music from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 each or $30 per couple and can be purchased at Bridgeside Books, Stowe Street Emporium or Tiny Acorn, all in Waterbury. Appetizers are included. The event includes a cash bar and a variety of silent auction items provided by Winterfest sponsors.

The event benefits Waterbury Recreation, whose largest project is the annual Winterfest celebration.

This year’s Winterfest will run from Friday, Jan. 30, to Sunday, Feb. 8. Waterbury businesses are invited to enter Winterfest’s first window-decorating contest by decorating their storefronts with a “Winter Wonderful & Fun” theme. Deadline to enter is Friday, Jan. 16. Entering is free.

To participate, businesses must email Brenda Caforia-Weeber at bcafweeb@gmail.com or Natalie Howell at nataliehowell1@gmail.com with their business name, contact person, telephone number, and website address or location. Decorations must be completed by Friday, Jan. 30.

Winterfest will list entries with photographs of the decorated windows on its website and ask community members to vote for their favorite windows. On Sunday, Feb. 8, judges will select the winners and announce them at the Winterfest closing ceremonies.
