Runamok Maple of Cambridge recently took home a 2018 sofi (specialty outstanding food innovation) award for its Ginger Root-Infused Syrup, winning Best New Product in the “dessert sauce or topping” category.
The sofi Awards have been presented by the Specialty Food Association since 1972. This year 2,650 product entries were judged panel of 58 culinary experts during several weeks of blind taste-testing in March.
Runamok Maple, founded by husband-wife team Eric and Laura Sorkin in 2006, produces organic infused, barrel-aged, and smoked maple syrups.
Other Vermont winners included Mount Mansfield Maple Products and Vermont Creamery.
