A look at what’s happening on the local theater circuit.

Theater camp

Stowe Children’s Theatre will hold a Musical Medley Summer Camp Monday to Friday, June 22 to 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the home of Molly Mitchell.

The camp is for children ages 5 to 14. A dress rehearsal will be held Friday, June 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at Stowe Elementary School and a final performance will be held that evening from 5:30 to 6:30.

Campers will experience the magic of music, dance and theater and have an opportunity to perform pieces from some of Broadway’s most beloved shows. The fee is $200 and includes costumes, props, two snacks a day, and a camp T-shirt. Information: Molly Mitchell, 730-4157, moltose@gmail.com.

Hardwick vaudeville

Vermont Vaudeville will perform on Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9, at 8 p.m. and at a reduced-price matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hardwick Town House.

The show features founding company members Rose Friedman, Brent and Maya McCoy, and Justin Lander as well as the Vermont Vaudeville house band — Geoff Goodhue and Otto Muller, and, of course, a gorilla.

Guests include contortionist/ comedian Jonathan Burns, who has performed on the “Tonight” show with Jay Leno and the “Late Show With David Letterman,” and acrobat/clown Olivia Weinstein, an alumna of Cirque De Soleil.

Wood Belly Pizza will set up two hours before each show on the Town House lawn and refreshments from Red Sky Trading, as well as popcorn and lemonade, will be sold in the lobby.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children in advance and $15 and $8 at the door. The matinee performance is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are available at Galaxy Bookstore in downtown Hardwick and online at vermontvaudeville.com.

'The Play's the Thing'

The Lamoille County Players present a production of the P.G. Wodehouse comedy “The Play’s the Thing,” running Friday and Saturday, May 8-9 and 15-16, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 10 and 17, at 2 p. m. at the Hyde Park Opera House.

Wodehouse’s adaptation of “The Play at the Castle” by Hungarian writer Ferenc Molnar was a Broadway smash 90 years ago, and remains hilarious — witty, cleverly constructed and stylish.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. A Mother’s Day special is available on Sunday, May 10; all tickets are $10. Information and tickets: 888-4507, LCPlayers.com.
