The Peoples Academy Stage Company drew big, enthusiastic audiences for the musical “The Pajama Game” Nov. 21-23 in the school auditorium.
The plot revolves around a union strike at a pajama factory, with lots of friction, idealism and, of course, a love story. The play won the 1955 Tony Award for Best Musical and, more than half a century later, won the Best Revival award.
Proceeds from the show will go toward the Vermont State Drama Festival in March, which showcases the top high school one-act plays in Vermont. Peoples Academy and Hazen Union are hosting the festival, which will be held at Northern Vermont University-Johnson; hundreds of students will attend.
