The Green Mountain Woodcarvers will hold their 45th annual Woodcarving Show on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rusty Parker Park off Main Street at the train station in Waterbury. Admission is free.
After 41 years in Morrisville, the show was moved to a more central location to promote woodcarving and show how woodcarvers, using simple hand tools, transform a block of wood into a piece of art. Carvers from Vermont and New England will display their work.
In addition to the displays, demonstrations are planned throughout the day of carving styles and methods. There will also be an opportunity for children and adults to try soap carving.
