The Stowe Rotary Club has presented $500 to Morrisville’s “Under the Wings” backpack program.

This program purchases backpacks and school supplies for students in need in both Stowe and Morrisville, and this particular donation is expected to assist at least 18 students in Stowe.

“This is one of the best parts of my job as Stowe Rotary president,” said Jennifer Colin. “That we are able to provide this kind of help and support to ensure students in Stowe and Morrisville are ready to start school in just a few weeks means a great deal to all of us.”

One of Stowe Rotary’s highest priorities is support for students and the education they receive. So far this year, Stowe Rotary awarded $2,000 to the endowment fund at Johnson State College, $19,000 to graduating Stowe High School seniors, $13,800 to Green Mountain Technical and Career Center students, and thousands of dollars in “Tools of the Trade” gifts to Green Mountain Tech students.
