Chicken pie

A chicken pie supper will be served Thursday, Oct. 15, with the first seating at 5:30 p.m. at Puffer United Methodist Church on Main Street in Morrisville.

Takeout dinners are available from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu includes chicken, biscuits and gravy, mashed potatoes, squash, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, and a variety of homemade pies. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Information: 888-2248.

Rummage, bake sales

A rummage sale, flea market and bake sale will be held on Fridays, Oct. 16 and Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, Oct. 17 and 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. John the Apostle Church, St. John Street, Johnson.

Proceeds benefit The Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish. Information: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 888-3318.

Yard, bake sale

An annual autumn indoor yard and bake sale will be held Friday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wolcott United Methodist Church. The organizers promise “something for everyone — bargains galore!” Information: Linda Martin, 888-2746.

Halloween bash

Magic Hat Brewing Company will celebrate its 21st birthday with a Halloween-themed bash on Friday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. at Burlington’s ECHO Lake Aquarium & Science Center. Spirits will be raised with live music, bewitching brews, a costume contest and a frightful celebration. Tickets to Night of the Living Dead are $15 in advance and $18 the day of the party, with $5 per ticket going to ECHO’s Leahy Center for Lake Champlain and its mission to educate and delight people about the ecology, culture, history and opportunity for stewardship of the Lake Champlain Basin.
