Train show in Winooski

The 21st annual Winooski “Dollars for Scholars” train show is on track to arrive on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Winooski Educational Center. The show will feature operating layouts in a variety of gauges, Lego trains and a Lego display, railroad books and videos, ‘railroadiana,’ toy train dealers, local railroad groups manning displays and a food concession. This annual event raises money for the Winooski Dollars for Scholars program and student activities. Adult admission is $5, age 6 to 12 is $1 and children under 6 are free when accompanied by an adult. Students will run the concession and a 50/50 raffle. Information: John J. Holiday concert at St. Michael’s

A concert of Gregorian chant, organ solos and seasonal carols will take place on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel, St. Michael’s College, Colchester. The Schola, an 18-member men’s singing group, will perform the Mass of the Angels as well as liturgical rounds from France, Josquin des Pres and Jacques Clement. Vocal soloist Rosemary Rogers of St. Albans will sing a setting of the Ave Maria by Marcel Dupré. The audience will have an opportunity to sing traditional carols.
