Hyde Park fun run
The Northern Vermont Ridge Runners are sponsoring “Slip Sliding Away,” a 5K fun run and walk on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the House of Troy, 902 Silver Ridge Road, Hyde Park. Soup suppers in Stowe
Enjoy Simple Soup Suppers on Wednesdays from Feb. 25 to March 25, 5:30 to 7 p.m., at St. John’s in the Mountains Episcopal Church at Luce Hill and Mountain roads. The menu includes a choice of six homemade soups, artisan breads from Harvest Market, Cold Hollow cider, and dessert. The cost is $6 per person or $20 for a family of four. This annual event is a fundraiser for Lamoille Community Food Share. Information: 253-2952.
The King lives in Waterbury
“Elvis” will visit Waterbury American Legion Post 59 on Stowe Street on Friday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:30. Tickets are $8; reserve tickets by calling the post after 3 p.m. (244-8144), or buy them in person. Everyone is welcome at this event.
Spaghetti and magic
Green Mountain Kids in Morrisville will present its fourth annual spaghetti dinner Friday, March 13, at 5:30 p.m. followed by Philip & Henry Amazing Magicians, a family magic show, at 7 p.m. The fundraiser includes arts and crafts for children and a silent auction. Tickets are $10 per adult, $7 for children up to age 12 or $30 for a family of four. Tickets for the dinner or the magic show alone will also be available.
