A woman swung a knife at two other women in the parking lot of an Eden gas station last month, threatening to stab them, police allege.

Samantha Lee Reed, 24, of Hyde Park pleaded not guilty last week in Lamoille County Superior Court to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of disorderly conduct.

According to Vermont State Police, Reed accosted two women who pulled into the Eden Mini Mart parking lot on Route 100 on Oct. 7 around 4:40 p.m. The charges allege Reed pulled in behind them and jumped out of her car with a knife, threatening one of the women, who also had a child in her car.

That woman ran into the store and called police, and Reed allegedly swung the knife at the second woman, threatening to stab her and burn her house down. Reed then drove off.

Police oftained an arrest warrant after deeming Reed a “risk to the public.”
