The Rusty Nail has two big names in its lineup this week: The legendary Taj Mahal, at right, performs with his trio Thursday, Aug. 21, and dance-hall pioneer King Yellowman, above, will be there Friday, Aug. 22. Both shows start at 9 p.m. The opening acts — Tallgrass Getdown on Thursday, and the Van Gordon Martin Band on Friday — will perform earlier, so the main acts can start at 9. Taj Mahal has won two Grammy Awards, and has recast the blues by incorporating sounds from other cultures. Yellowman was an albino orphan in Jamaica, and went on to become a reggae star. The Nail is at 1190 Mountain Road, Stowe. Tickets are $40 to $65 for Taj Mahal, and $20 in advance, $25 day of show, for King Yellowman at rustynailvt.com.
