Broadway Jazz, a new dance class led by Taryn Noelle, will be offered for the winter/spring 2014 semester at Ballet Wolcott for students age 9 and up with dance experience. Classes start Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

Broadway Jazz incorporates ballet, jazz and modern dance styles with theater and singing. Dance becomes an integral component of a play’s plot. Dancers will focus on performance and class work that incorporates the whole self, both internally and externally.

Some iconic stylists whose work will be explored in this class are Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins, Agnes DeMille, Twyla Tharp, and Susan Stroman.

Taryn Noelle is an actor, vocalist, dance instructor, and choreographer. Her experience includes both rhythmic and artistic gymnastics and training as an actor at The Circle in the Square Theatre School in Manhattan.
