On Sunday, the Squirt A’s headed to Leddy Park for an even match against the Burlington Amateur Hockey Association. The Squirts had only eight players, who worked together vigorously. Woody Reichelt scored in the first period, and Aaron Lepikko, Katelyn Prive, David Gosselin and Hayden Tibbits rotated through the offensive line.
Charlie Davidow, Gage Daliere and Eames Eiden excelled in breaking up plays on defense.
Stowe’s lead stood up until 1:15 was left on the clock, and BAHA was awarded a penalty shot on a contested foul. Although they tied 1-1, the Squirt A’s left the ice feeling proud of their effort and teamwork.
Stowe Peewees prevailed last Saturday in Chittenden South Burlington territory, in a fierce battle that ended 4-3 with two goals by Rowan Keller and tallies by Colin Scott and Jordon Goodwin, who nicely finished off a breakaway.
On Sunday, Atticus Eiden and Henry Paumgarten combined for six goals against the Burlington Bobcats before Keller capped off the scoring with a nifty top-shelf shot. Goalies Kai Taylor and Ethan Brown stood tall in the net for the 7-2 final score.
An hour later, Colin Scott, Nate Libby, Tristan Love and Jackson Graham led the charge against longtime friendly rival Middlebury, hoping to avenge the previous week’s 4-3 loss to the Panthers. Instead, Stowe got plucked 6-0 before a sold-out crowd at Stowe Arena.
