Parenting is challenging and rewarding, exhausting and exhilarating! To be successful, families need social connections, knowledge of child development, and concrete support in times of need. The Lamoille Family Center’s Parent Education program provides a wide variety of education and support programs to hundreds of parents each year! Programming includes ongoing weekly playgroups, single-session workshops, multi-session classes, and a monthly support group for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.
The 10 programs to get the most votes will each receive $2,500!
Parent education programs make a difference. Here’s what one parent had to say:
“It’s been a wonderful thing to be able to have an open discussion like this, and for both my husband and I to have attended and read the book together has been extremely helpful, not only with regard to our individual parenting, but also to our teamwork parenting, and our relationship in general.”
“Through playgroup, my child has made friends, gained confidence, experienced new things, and had lots of fun. It’s been a great resource for me too. A place to discuss parenting questions, to observe other parents, make connections in the community.”
