There were many blessings stories shared, singing and food. The story of the shepherds and angels was my biggest blessing this year. Reading that the Bethlehem shepherds were of the Levite tribe, watching the sheep that would be slaughtered at Passover for sacrifice, was a revelation that tied the Old Testament with the New Testament for me. As if the “Good News” the angels were proclaiming is good for now also: the baby Jesus came to offer His precious Blood for an eternal sacrifice instead of the animals’ blood, and there is no more shame or guilt we need to carry around. We are free children of God! That is what faith does for us! We are so blessed to invite and keep the Son of God in our heart, He is the Light of the World, so let’s shine with Him! Good News for us and the shepherds!
