Lisa McCormack has done a good job covering stories in the Stowe Reporter. But her report Nov. 19 regarding the proposed Morrisville-Elmore school merger was disappointing.
The vote count shows there are 164 Elmore voters and 247 Morrisville voters who opposed the merger. Her report states that, as of press time, none of the people contacted who opposed the merger had responded to the reporter.
Then why run the story without presenting the other side’s position? I understand this is a hot topic, but in order to present this story in a balanced manner, it’s important to give voice to those opposed as well as those who support the merger.
I look forward to reading a front-page report presenting the opinions and concerns of those who voted against the merger in the near future.
