Do you cut your own firewood? Are you ready for winter? Many seniors and low-income families in Lamoille County do not know how they will make it through another long winter like last year.

There is a local program that will help many make it through the winter. The United Way’s Lamoille WoodBank is a volunteer-based solution for many in need.
Every year. we receive log-length firewood from the state of Vermont, and we turn to volunteers to help us cut, split, stack and deliver the wood.
This year, the Lamoille WoodBank has partnered with Leo’s Small Engines and is raffling off a chain saw Sept. 6 at the STIHL safety, maintenance and demo day. Come and learn how to safely process your firewood, tune and sharpen your saw, and try out the latest and greatest from STIHL. We will be starting at 1 p.m. but come as early as 9 and lend a hand.
The Lamoille Wood Bank site is located behind Hannaford’s Supermarket, off Stafford Avenue in Morrisville; look for the signs. Get your free raffle tickets by stopping in to Leo’s Small Engines — must be present on Sept. 6 to win.
STIHL Demo Day is in addition to our traditional workday of Sept. 11, a National Day of Service and Remembrance. We will be starting at 9 a.m.; come on down and help us cut, split and deliver.
