We wish to express our deepest gratitude to Umiak Outfitters in Stowe for believing in our mission and supporting our young and growing local nonprofit by donating the $1,800 in participant contributions from the third annual Vermont Stand Up Paddleboard Festival to the Friends of Waterbury Reservoir.
These funds will be used right away to help us really dig in to some of our highest priority projects, including the Rozalia Project Trash Data Study, loon habitat protection, aquatic invasive species prevention and management, potential future improvements at the Cottonbrook canoe access and more.
Thanks to the broad publicity for this event, we’ve connected with hundreds of new people who also recognize the reservoir as a vital community resource and want to do their part to protect and preserve it for generations. Many of these people have joined our newsletter list and are ready to jump in to volunteer and advocate!
