I believe that we should have a crosswalk at the Stowe Dance Academy, which is located at 177 S. Main St. I think this because we want to keep people safe and if somebody wants to get into town from the dance academy they have to jaywalk to get across the street. For these reasons, I believe a crosswalk is critical.
First of all, I think it is important to have a crosswalk at the Stowe Dance Academy because we want to keep people safe. We also don’t want to add to the number of people being killed crossing the road. It has been shown that having a crosswalk can create a safer environment for pedestrians. Statistics show that 42 percent of pedestrian deaths occurred without a crosswalk. Only 9 percent occurred with a crosswalk. That shows that people would be much safer with a crosswalk.
I believe there should be a crosswalk at the Stowe Dance academy because it is illegal to walk across the street without a crosswalk, also known as jaywalking. If there is not a crosswalk, that means that dance students are not able to get into town or get to Mac’s without doing something illegal. You also don’t want people in your town jaywalking across the street because they could be hit by a car and they would be the ones to blame.
I realize that you might think that a crosswalk might cost a lot of money. However, you would only have to pay a couple of people for an hour to paint a line across the road. It would keep a lot of people safer while crossing the street. There should definitely be some thought put into this.
As you can see, a crosswalk is greatly needed at the Stowe Dance Academy. Please contact me soon. I go to Stowe Elementary School and I am in Mrs. Bennett’s fifth-grade class. Thank you for taking this into consideration.
