Das boot

Is it the ghost of Emily’s Bridge pulling a prank? LL Bean’s boots can go lots of places, but the company’s Bootmobile had trouble with a steep incline off the shoulder of Stowe Hollow Road near the Gold Brook last Monday, Nov. 8.

According to photographer Tom Rogers, the driver pulled over to check out the famous scenery and got stuck, and had to be towed out.

According to LL Bean’s website, the Bootmobile is 13 feet long, built on a Ford F250 frame. The shoelaces are made of 12-strand braided mooring rope capable of towing 106,000 pounds. If this was a real boot, it would be size 747 and the person wearing them would be about 143 feet tall.
