Reporter hosts forum for three contenders
The Stowe Reporter invites the public to meet this year’s select board candidates at a forum on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Akeley Memorial Building. The event, free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m.
There are three candidates running for select board. Incumbent Neil Van Dyke is running unopposed for a two-year term. Marina Meerburg, current chair of the Stowe Conservation Commission, and Willie Noyes, owner of Willie’s Village Auto, are vying for an open three-year seat.
The candidates will introduce themselves before answering questions from a Stowe Reporter staff member. Members of the public will then be invited to ask questions of their own.
Town Meeting Day is Tuesday, March 4. The statewide deadline for registering to vote is Feb. 26. Residents who wish to vote early have until 4:30 p.m. on March 3 to fill out an absentee ballot. Those ballots are available at the Stowe town clerk’s office.
The forum will take place in Memorial Hall at the Akeley Memorial Building, 67 Main St., Stowe.
