Inversion diversion

Last week, Stowe saw several straight days of a weather phenomenon known as an inversion. In layman’s terms, temperatures are warmer at higher elevations, and can result in low-level clouds beneath clear skies and stunning views. Social media was full of photographs depicting the phenomenon last week, which some call “islands in the sky.” The result Sunday morning, Jan. 10, is this beautiful sunrise looking east from the Forerunner quad on top of Mount Mansfield.
