Andrew Volansky, an architect in Stowe, has begun his own design firm, Volansky Studio Architecture and Planning.
He had worked for Cushman Design Group in Stowe since 2003, and developed into the firm’s lead architect and project manager.
With his new firm, Volansky said he wants to continue providing a high level of design, collaboration and leadership, working with clients, general contractors, engineering consultants and real estate agents.
Volansky grew up in Stowe, graduated from Stowe High School in 1990, and earned a master’s degree in architecture in 1996 from Norwich University. He began his career in Vail, Colo., working for Gwathmey Pratt Schultz Architects, primarily on high-end custom residences and custom multifamily townhomes.
He and his wife, Jennifer, returned to Stowe in 2003 to start a family. They now have two boys, Tucker, 12, and Jaxson, 8.
“The term ‘Studio’ in my firm’s name reflects an approach to how I do design work with my clients, as opposed to simply the physical place where design occurs,” Volansky said. “It represents a collaborative process involving myself, my clients and the various craftspeople, general contractors and consultants to deliver a truly client-specific project, whether it be a primary residence, a vacation home, or place of business.”
