Ferro Estate & Custom Jewelers recently announced its new store manager at its 91 Main St. store in Stowe village. Sedillia Ota comes to Ferro’s with both experience and knowledge of jewelry and the jewelry industry, and also of the theory and practice of business management.
Ota holds a gemologist diploma with a specialization in diamonds from the Gemological Institute of America’s on-campus program in Vicenza, Italy, and a specialization in colored stones from GMI’s on-campus program in Carlsbad, Calif.
Prior to moving to Japan, where she taught business management in the Department of Economics at Sophia University in Tokyo, Ota worked in jewelry sales and was an apprentice jewelry appraiser. On her return to the United States, she moved to Vermont and has held positions in jewelry appraisals, sales, custom jewelry, repairs and management.
“She will be a great asset to our team and a resource to the Stowe community,” business owner Bryan Ferro said in a press release. “Please stop by and say hello to Sedillia.”
