Several area stores took part in a pair of training seminars about alcohol and tobacco sales regulations. The seminars, hosted by the Department of Liquor Control, took place at the Morrisville VFW on Feb. 12 and 14.
The attendees included a total of 26 people from the Wolcott Store, Johnson Jolley, Stowe Maplefields, Stowe Jolley, Morrisville Cumberland Farms, Stowe Cinema, Commodore’s Inn in Stowe, Green Mountain Concert Services, Armstrong Valley Farm, Morrisville House of Pizza and Jay Peak Resort.
Participants learn about laws and regulations that apply to retail liquor and tobacco sales, resulting in fewer problems adhering to the laws.
Trainings are divided into two categories, First Class (restaurants, bars, hotels and clubs) and Second Class (store clerks). Upcoming First Class seminars take place April 15 at the Morrisville VFW, and April 23 and May 28 at the Inn at Stowe Mountain. A Second Class seminar takes place April 14 at the Morrisville VFW.
