Local educators Carrie Damp and Joan Holcombe have recently returned from Nepal where they have been working with teachers and students in a remote mountainous village. They provided a wonderful presentation that was inspiring. The landscape surrounding them was truly spectacular but even more astonishing was their effort and the effort of the community to educate their children. They persevere with as little as one hour a day of electricity and miles to walk to school on difficult terrain. These educators certainly symbolize service above self.
